Ways to Improve Your Christmas Shopping

Ways to Improve Your Christmas Shopping

Doing your shopping way ahead of time basically does two good things for you – taking advantage of the greater deals and avoiding the holiday craze. However it has its drawbacks as well. Several toy and game companies release their latest merchandise only as the holiday draws nearer. So if you are going to shop way ahead before the holiday you will not be able to get your hands on the latest items on the market. A great solution to deal with this is to make sure you pre-order. As a matter of fact pre-ordering items may even give you some discounts and even freebies.

Before you head to gift shops and malls, think of the recipient first. One simple thing you must always ask yourself is to determine whether they will like the gift or not! Make sense right? So spare yourself some time to get to know him/ her. What are his/her likes and dislikes? For the most part, they will surely appreciate the present received, out of respect, but it certainly doesn’t mean that they like it.

An easy way to work this minute dilemma is to just ask the person about the gift they wish to receive on Christmas day. Certainly this gets rid of the element of surprise but at least you won’t be risking to having them disappointed when they see your Christmas gift. A less obvious technique to approach this is by asking their close kin or friends whether they like something in particular, or maybe they currently are in need of something, or basically just ask anything that would answer the question “What gift?” Anyhow, you it is imperative to recognize that conducting a little research of your subject before shopping is actually a better option to take.

Begin your shopping early. There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying someone a gift (of which you are affirmative that they will like) in the middle of the year. When you see a thing that someone may like, go ahead and buy it regardless of the time of the year. At times you can get some awesome deals when you do your Christmas shopping divided all throughout the year and not just during the holidays.

Create and customize your own gift tags. You can even get the little ones involved by recycling previous years’ Christmas cards. Look for an appropriate small-scale image and cut it into any shape you desire, punch a hole at the top, and thread some colorful laces through the hole tying them into a know. You will then have your own home-made gift tags and you will have made use of your old Christmas cards.

Finding suitable Christmas presents for older children and grownups is a more difficult task to accomplish. Especially when you ask them “What do you want to get this Christmas?” they answer you with “Jeez, I haven’t thought of that, well, surprise me then!” Very helpful indeed, right? So to help you with that “crisis” we have put together a site that offers Christmas gift ideas for all people. Come and visit us and click on the link below.…

How’s Your Beauty Counter Etiquette?

How’s Your Beauty Counter Etiquette?

We’ve all had those not-so-pleasant experiences at the makeup counter… from being ignored by the salesperson… to learning your favorite color has been discontinued… to feeling that car salesman-y pressure to buy products that you don’t really want. I decided to ask a beauty specialist directly and her answers and tips are straight up and brutally honest. Here are some candid answers to your beauty counter etiquette questions as well as some must-know tips to make your next counter experience a stress-free one.

Size Up The Counter Before You Approach It

I’ve been guilty of rushing up to a counter and impatiently demanding service only to be ignored or snubbed by the salesperson. First tip: size up the counter. Is there a line of gals waiting to be helped? If so, expect a wait as it’s typically first-come-first-serve. However, these no-nonsense tips will help ensure you get in and out in a jiffy:

Avoid the lunchtime rush (Women just like you are all about maximizing a day’s schedule and often run beauty errands during lunch).

Opt for weekdays versus weekends (a Monday AM is more likely to be less busy than a Saturday PM).

Tis’ the holiday season (It goes without saying, the holiday season is insane. Do your shopping early, early, early to avoid uber long lines).

While waiting, feel free to try samples on the back of your hand (This allows you see what the samples look/feel like immediately, without waiting on the salesperson to disinfect each one you wish to try).

Etiquette Dos And Don’ts

My source also outlined a beauty specialist’s biggest pet peeves. I have certainly been guilty of two:

Don’t be on your cell phone when you approach the counter (This might cause the sales rep to not approach you so as not to interrupt your conversation).

Do be patient (Beauty counters are sometimes under-staffed and the salesperson is trying to get to as many beauty junkies {aka you} as quickly as possible).

Do be polite (While it’s tempting to yell “hey, can I get some assistance” when you’re in a hurry, it’s off-putting to the salesperson and will likely ensure bad customer service).

Don’t let your kids treat the counter like a jungle gym (No sugarcoating this one: if you bring your kids along keep an eye on them. Climbing on counters and sticking fingers in expensive samples is a sure-fire way to unnerve the salesperson and slow down your service).

Don’t double dip (Just like at a cocktail party, the same rules apply. When testing samples, don’t put the applicator in more than one item).

Don’t help yourself (At one time or another we’ve all thought, “I’ll just run behind the counter and grab what I need. Don’t. This is considered a security no-no and will not score you any points with the security).

Do tip your makeup artist (15-20%. Just like you would tip your hairdresser).

Be Prepared

I think we girls sometimes expect the salesperson or makeup artist to be a mind reader. Nothing is worse than going up to a counter and feeling like you’re talking two different languages. These tips are a sure-fire way to avoid buying the wrong colors or products:

Have a checklist (If your goal is to update your makeup for the autumn season, have a list of products and colors you wish to try).

Give Cliff Notes on why you’re there (For example, if you feel your makeup style has become dated and you want to revamp your look, explain this to the artist).

Offer your skin type (Before buying any type of makeup or skincare product, always make certain to tell the salesperson your skin type…e.g. olive complexion, oily, t-zone issues. This will help ensure spot-on product and color suggestions).

The Discontinued Colors Meltdown

It’s Murphy’s Law. Your favorite color or product gets discontinued. Not to fret. My source says if you fall in love with a color or product that’s been retired, you have a few options. The obvious option: you can stock pile your favorites (buying multiples at a time). But if you didn’t stock up, your counter is totally out of something and it’s been discontinued, she recommends Googling it. Type the specific product name and color in your Google search box and then hit “shopping” in the upper left hand corner. You’ll likely find multiples and be able to order it online. And when the first two options fail, there’s still no need to have a meltdown. You can simply re-create your favorite color. Companies like Prescriptives and Three Custom Color Specialists can clone your favorite lipstick, powder or blush.

So, when hitting the beauty counter next time, this insider knowledge will hopefully arm you with the tips and tricks necessary to expertly navigate …

The Way to a More Youthful Appearance May Involve Jowl Liposuction

The Way to a More Youthful Appearance May Involve Jowl Liposuction

For many, the various effects that come with aging happen at an appropriate point in one’s life – and with proper moderation. For others, those signs may come far too soon and may be not be all that aesthetically pleasing. One alternative to fixing these issues is jowl liposuction, which is otherwise known as facial liposuction.

Although the cosmetic surgery costs may certainly be considerable with facial liposuction, the reasons for these high costs are two-fold. First of all, not all plastic surgeons are qualified to perform a delicate jowl liposuction. Unlike the type of liposuction that is used for the buttocks or a standard tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), a jowl liposuction is a far more intricate and sensitive procedure.

A jowl liposuction requires pinpoint accuracy that is much less of a concern with liposuction procedures that involve the larger areas of the body. A slight misstep with a tummy tuck is far less noticeable than in a sensitive situation which ultimately resulted in asymmetrical facial features.

Any issues with a jowl liposuction procedures that require later correction, may result in a high level of embarrassment and seriously low self-esteem for that patient. You may ask yourself “why are issues of correction with facial liposuction errors not addressed during the initial procedure?” Well, the answer is a simple one.

The final results of jowl liposuctions are not seen immediately after the surgery. With most facial liposuction procedures, patients experience some initial swelling that can mask the eventual effects of the procedure. The cosmetic surgeon, during the initial consultation, should have gone over the possibility of swelling risks with the patient prior to the decision to proceed with the procedure. So, directly after surgical procedure – nothing out of place would be noticed.

Once the swelling from the jowl liposuction has finally subsided, then any asymmetrical deficiencies that are present will then become apparent. It is at this point another facial liposuction may need to be performed in order to repair any original problems that may have arisen.…

Shoes – Every Woman’s And Some Men’s Best Friends

Buying shoes can be a hassle nowadays, given the massive selection available both in person and online. Trends literally change daily. You’ll learn a lot here to help you make the right choices.

Keep an eye on the budget. If you have a certain amount that you can spend on shoes, then be sure that you can stick to it. A lot of the time when you see a sale you may want to get extra shoes that you weren’t planning on getting, and that can make you spend too much. So you need to know exactly what you need, what you have to spend and be able to stick to it.

Flip flops are not good walking-around shoes. The fact that these shoes offer no support means that you leave yourself vulnerable to injuries including sprained ankles, stubbed toes and blisters. Flip flops are fine if you are going to the beach but try to wear more supportive shoes the rest of the time.

Before you buy shoes for exercising, find out what type of arch you have because different athletic shoes fit different arch types. To do so, put a little water on your feet and then apply pressure to a white sheet of paper. You can tell your arch type based on the wet and dry portions of the paper. If you have a flat arch, most of your footprint will show up on the paper. If you have a high arch, then the middle part won’t be visible. You will be able to find more comfortable shoes.

A quality pair of shoes will be comfortable from the get go. If you put on a pair of shoes and feel as though they will need some break-in time, you should probably keep shopping. You can end up with foot issues if you are breaking in uncomfortable shoes.

Do not fall prey to the concept of breaking shoes in. Many people think they must break in a new pair of shoes. It doesn’t always work that way. In fact, the best shoes will feel perfect the first time you slip them on. When they don’t fit right, they’re only damaging your foot.

When online shopping for shoes, figure out what the return policy is. Shoe sizes run very differently depending on the brand. Check if the seller will refund your money if you’re not satisfied so that you will not be forced to keep something that you cannot wear.

Make sure to get shoes that have room to grow when buying shoes for little kids. Allow a little over a thumbs width from the end of your child’s big toe to the end of the shoe. This lets the foot grow a bit without the shoe being too loose in the beginning. Ask the sales clerk to help make sure you’re getting the best fit for your little one.

Since you’ve read this information, you should definitely be able to locate the right shoes for you. Everyone loves a great looking shoe, but it is a sad fact that some people have no fashion sense when it comes to style. You are now equipped to do what others can’t and that is find the perfect pair of shoes!…
